Volunteer invasive-plant workday in downtown Boone with MountainTrue, Transition Blue Ridge, and Blue Ridge Women in Agriculture. Learn to identify and harvest Oriental bittersweet vine for weaving and how invasive plants are treated. Volunteering is free; under-18s welcome with a parent or guardian for the whole event. Optional basket-weaving workshop with Angela Eastman of Flag Mountain Studio follows 1–4 PM with catered lunch from Wildwood Cafe (separate ticket, proceeds buy native plants for public land). Parking is limited; paid public parking downtown.
